I have a 1994 Chevy Cavalier... The front brakes have recently started squeaking...?

As stated above, I have a 1994 Chevy Cavalier, It is a four door, front wheel drive.. There is a squeaking that occurs when turning to the right, and I am assuming it is from the front brakes. Would rather change the brakes myself, than pay a load of cash to have a shop do it, as I am told it is an easy process. Does someone have a walkthru on how to change the front brakes, or a link to a site with a walkthrough on information. I am not well learned in car mechanics etc. so any help would be great,I have a 1994 Chevy Cavalier... The front brakes have recently started squeaking...?its not that hard to do actually. if you had a book like a chiltons manual for your car that would be the best way to learn as for me trying to tell you step by step would be hard..

you know as a matter of fact your local library will carry books like that.. just go and check one out..

also as far as tools go just the basic wrenches like open end wrenches, a jack and also be sure to block the back tires with the E brake on.. also but blocks under the car as to be more carefull..

another thing you might wanna look at too is the brake fluid level.. once your brakes wear down the fluid level goes down too because the caliper has to move further to grasp the rotor..

yeah also might wanna chesk the rotor for flatness .. if its worn out have it turned or get a new one..

anyways that a little bit on it, if you have questions you can Im me on yahoo at fat85crxzcI have a 1994 Chevy Cavalier... The front brakes have recently started squeaking...?the noise is from a little metal tab on the pad that touches the rotor when the pads get low. changing the pads is simple just take off the tire and look at it, youll figure it outI have a 1994 Chevy Cavalier... The front brakes have recently started squeaking...?in general replacing break pads is done in the following way.

firstly by unbolting the front wheel. then removing the safety pin of the break pad housing followed by lifting the housing and pulling out the pads and replacing them.I have a 1994 Chevy Cavalier... The front brakes have recently started squeaking...?Are you breaking when you turn right or is the vehicle just in motion it sounds like a wheel bareing not a brake issue I would get that looked at soon before it locks up on you.
